The trip takes you to the Gurung settlements in the glorious Annapurna Region. Giving a brief insight into their ways of life, the trek is also a journey into the Gurung ethos and culture. With the bountiful Himalayas to glorify the horizons, the Gurung Heritage trek is equally majestic in terms of scenic grandeur. This trek is filled with many natural and cultural wonders that will make your trip worthwhile.
Like the majority of the treks, this Gurung heritage trek also commences from Kathmandu and after getting your stuff sorted, we shall head to Khudi. The long drive takes us through the Prithvi Highway and a myriad of attractions. We take a break at Muglin and continue on the road to arrive at Besisahar. This town is used by trekkers on the road to the Annapurna Circuit Trek. After a quick walk, we arrive at Khudi. We make our way to Ghalegaon by going through green pastures and meadows.
This village sits in the foothills of the Annapurna Mountains and is mostly inhabited by the Gurung and Ghale communities. After spending a night here, we venture towards Bhujung which houses antique monasteries and the amazing Kaiyo waterfall. It is also the largest Gurung village in Nepal. Walking along the Midim River leads us to another lively Gurung town called Pasgaon.
The Gurungs here follow a slightly different culture than their relatives at Ghalegaon. The trail takes a stop at another Gurung settlement of Pakhrikot. Learn the Gurung lifestyle and embark on Pokhara by crossing the elevated trails. Pokhara is a tourist hub and offers plenty of sites and activities to spend your day. The trail comes to an end when you arrive at Kathmandu and explore its major UNESCO World Heritage Sites. As the Gurung Heritage trek is one of the short treks in Nepal, you can undertake the trek any time of the year.

Today, you arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport and meet our representative who will transfer you to your hotel. You can enjoy the lively streets in Kathmandu and enjoy the sights of Newari art and architecture. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Kathmandu - Besisahar to Khudi (790m).
Today, we drive west; all the way to Besisahar. The drive covers 190 km and it lasts for about 6 hours. The drive goes through the Prithvi Highway and offers amazing view of the green hills and crystal clear mountains. Besisahar is a settlement in the Lamjung district and is used by trekkers as a starting point for the Annapurna Circuit Trek. We head to Khudi which sits near the Khudi River. Overnight in Khudi.
Khudi to Ghalegaon (2095 m).
From Khudi, we need to walk for about 4 hours in order to reach Ghalegaon. The trek is filled with immersing trails filled with rhododendron forests and sublime Himalayan panoramas. This Ghale and Gurung village that sits on the foothills of the mighty Annapurna range. The village is famous for its unique Ghale culture and home-stay practices. Overnight in Ghalegaon.
Ghalegaon to Bhujung (1690 m).
Today, we shall trek to Bhujung. We need to walk about 8 km and trek for 4 hours. Following on the forested trails leaving out of the village, the trail grants mesmerizing views of the Annapurna Himalayas and Lamjung Himal (6983m). Bhujung is the largest Gurung village in the Annapurna Conservation Area. People here are mostly involved in agriculture and animal husbandry. You can visit the Kaiyo waterfall or taste the local tea. Overnight in Bhujung.
Bhujung to Pasgaon (1636 m).
The trail for the day leads us to Pasgaon. We need to walk for about 2 hours. We walk through waterfalls and green meadows. As we walk on the banks of the Midim River, we arrive at Pasgaon. It is a small village that is mostly famous for homestay. The houses are made of mud and allow you to witness typical Gurung households. You can also observe the Annapurna Mountains from the village. Overnight in Pasgaon.
Pasgaon to Pakhrikot (1305 m).
The trail for the day leads us to the bustling Gurung settlement of Pakhrikot. We need to hike for about 6 hours. The road initially stops at Bagaicha and later climbs the rough roads. As we observe the panoramic view of the mountains, we arrive at Pakhrikot. It is a Gurung village and the majority of the populace follow Buddhism. The monasteries, chortens, and prayer flags dominate the village vicinity. Overnight in Pakhrikot.
Pakhrikot to Pokhara (820 m).
As we are at the end of the Gurung Heritage Trek, we head to Pokhara on this day. The trail takes a stop at Thumsikot and we can see the Begnas Lake from a distance. Pokhara is a beautiful valley which consists of many natural wonders like Phewa, Rupa, and Begnas lakes. Davis Falls, Mahendra Cave and Bat Cave are also prominent tourist attractions of the village. Overnight in Pokhara.
Pokhara to Kathmandu by bus or flight.
Today we catch a bus or flight that leads to Kathmandu. The drive takes 6 hours whereas the flight lasts for about 30 minutes. Upon arrival in Kathmandu transfer to your hotel. You can explore the nearby heritages and shop for authentic Nepali souvenirs as mementos of your travel. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Sightseeing and Shopping in Kathmandu
Today is a day of sightseeing and shopping which will take place inside the Kathmandu Valley. We will visit famous sites like Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, and Swayambhunath. These sites are the religious hubs to the people in the valley. Similarly, we can also visit the Kathmandu Durbar Square to relish the medieval architectural structures and museums within the palace courtyard. There sites are also enlisted as the UNESCO world heritage sites and are the symbols of the cultural supremacy of the Malla and Lichhavi dynasties. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Transfer to International Airport and fly home.
