Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek Overview
Start your journey by arriving at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. After getting your stuff ready, get on a plane to Pokhara. This majestic valley houses many lakes and religious hubs that are prime for a visit. A short drive along the roads of Pokhara takes you to Kyumi, the gateway for the Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek. We begin our walk by heading to Chhomrong. The trail goes along the banks of Kimrong Khola and, later, we arrive at this beautiful Gurung abode.
From Chhomrong, we begin our walk to the Himalaya hotel. This hotel provides an amazing picture of the Hiunchuli Peak (6441m) and the Hinku cave. As we walk on the banks of the Modi River, we reach Dovan. Our trail transcends from greenery to snow as we arrive at the Machhapuchhre Base Camp which grants captivating views of the majestic Mt. Machhapuchhre (6997m).
We walk on the elevated trail to reach the Annapurna Base Camp. We can see the Mt. Machhapuchhre (6997m), Lamjung Himal (6983m), Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountains from here. We descend to Sinuwa and along the way, we shall rest in Ghandruk. This Gurung village revered for its authentic cultural etiquette and home-stay provisions beneath the majestic Annapurna Himalayas. From Sinuwa, we retrace our steps back to Kyumi. Catch a bus back to Pokhara and, ultimately, to Kathmandu where the short ABC trek shall end.
