The most celebrated treks among a plethora of trekking options travelers can choose in Nepal. Add the sheer thrill of climbing Thorung Peak (6144m) to the trek and you double the fun. The Annapurna Circuit with Thorang Peak Climb is a venture deep into the Annapurna Conservation Area that encircles the Annapurna massif.
However, the trek and peak climb extends more. An arduous journey that introduces the Tibetan-Buddhist culture to the participants. A challenge filled with bountiful natural and cultural interactions, this trip to Nepal is as glorious as adventures get.
The trek includes the 16-day journey commencing upon your arrival at Kathmandu followed by a sightseeing tour of the historical Kathmandu City. The unique UNESCO World Heritage Sites including Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, and Boudhanath guarantee an enlivening experience. Annapurna Circuit with Thorang Peak Climbing afterward, you’ll drive 173 km west of Kathmandu to Besisahar from where the trek begins.
The trail gradually advances north through Chame and Pisang villages to reach Manang. Lying close to the Tibet border, Manang features the lifestyle, culture, and dialect depicting its northern counterpart. The trek moves to Yak Kharka and advances to Thorung Peak Base Camp.
Likewise, Thorang Peak is relatively one of the easiest peaks climbing destinations in Nepal so all the climbers who would like to summit this trail wouldn’t need any previous experience but requires physical good condition and stamina to walk along the difficult route of this trail. The climb to Thorung Peak summit begins in the early morning. You’ll easily climb the peak with the assistance of our Sherpa guide.
In fact from the summit, you can enjoy the majestic panorama of the surrounding mountains including the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Nilgiri Himalayan ranges. Afterward, you’ll begin descending to the other side of Mustang. You’ll trek down to Muktinath located on the foothills of Thorang La Pass.
One of the ‘Mukti-Kshetra’ (Land of Salvation), thousands of pilgrims visit Muktinath each year to perform the pilgrimage. You’ll continue along the arid, desert-like landscape of Mustang and head toward Jomsom. A short trans-Himalayan flight from Jomsom will bring you to the touristic city of Pokhara, from where you’ll drive back to Kathmandu.
Annapurna Circuit Trek can be undertaken mostly during spring (Mar-May) and autumn (Sep-Nov). Hiking the Annapurna circuit is of course challenging but when you reach back home, you will certainly take all the beautiful moments with you.
In addition, it is regarded as a challenging trek because of the highest altitude point and this trek can also be extended up to 21 days. Therefore, hiking at a slow pace and getting acclimatization time is the best solution to complete this trek
This can be a long trek for travelers wishing to circle the Annapurna Circuit, But besides for travelers who look forward to a shorter trek in the same route, We also have Annapurna Base Camp Trek – 14 Days for trekkers desiring to reach the base camp of Mt. Annapurna.
So, we here at Nepal Treks and Tour specialize in tailored treks around Nepal. We organize all kinds of trekking; private, group, or solo, to Annapurna Circuit with Thorang Peak Climb. The all-inclusive trek package covers entire transportation inside the country, three meals a day, an experienced guide, porter, permits, and other essential logistics.
